Time Marches On

Sierra Lynn turned 5 last week on March 5th.
It was a bittersweet moment for her dad and I to see reach this milestone in her young life. She is now officially "school aged". It's a new stage of development and she anxiously awaits the start of Kindergarten in the fall. Meanwhile her mommy is left feeling like time has flown by way too quickly. That phrase "time marches on".... yeh, it's true. Time doesn't care about our goals, ambitions, fears, concerns... one day at a time we are all another moment older and before long we realize that years have passed by.
As we treated her to lunch with just mommy and daddy I thought, "how much of the last 5 years I have wished away in all my busy schedules". It's true... we get so busy sometimes that we miss even the most mundane details of our lives, those same mundane details that we will later miss when our children are grown and out living a life away from us.
I'm sad to see her grow but happy to see how beautiful she continues to be and to watch God bless her life day in and day out.
So time marches on... I'm older... she's older... we're all older. Have you taken a few moments today to be thankful for each and every moment?
