should I stay or should I go

This morning I prayed with my teens and adults that were going on the mission trip. I hugged them all and told them I loved them and then I watched them get on the church van and drive away, headed towards Charleston, South Carolina. I returned to my home, still sitting in silence as all the kiddos were sleeping soundly. Sad?? A little. I would love to be on the trip with them but at the same time, I have responsibilities here this year that include little Christopher who is only 7 weeks old. Sometimes the balance between being a youth minister and being a mom is hard. But in the end this time, my role as mom won out as priority number one.
